CompactRIO Expansion Chassis

CompactRIO Expansion Chassis extend an existing CompactRIO or controller-based system by adding slots for C Series I/O modules. They connect via Ethernet or direct interface to a host controller, allowing distributed or co-located I/O expansion without requiring an additional embedded processor.

Key specs to consider include slot count, connection interface (Ethernet, EtherCAT, or direct digital), and whether the chassis includes an onboard FPGA for inline signal processing. FPGA-equipped models support Scan Mode for simple I/O or full FPGA programming for deterministic, high-speed control.
