NI Ettus USRP B310 - FAQ

Q: What is the NI Ettus USRP B310?

A: The NI Ettus USRP B310 is a scalable, entry-level software-defined radio (SDR) designed for applications from research through deployment.

Q: What is the frequency range and bandwidth of the USRP B310?

A: The USRP B310 has a frequency range of 350 MHz to 7.2 GHz, with up to 100 MHz of bandwidth per channel.

Q: How many TX/RX channels does the USRP B310 have?

A: The USRP B310 has 2 transmit and 2 receive channels, with 2 independent local oscillators (LOs), so each transmit/receive chain can be tuned independently.

Q: Can multiple USRP B310 units be synchronized together?

A: Yes. Up to four USRP B310 units can be synchronized to create an 8x8 channel system that doesn't require external clocking hardware.

Q: What form factors is the USRP B310 available in?

A: The USRP B310 is available in three configurations:

  • A PCIe plug-in card (790817-01)

  • An OEM board, with PCI Express (PCIe) bus connectivity (790415-01)

  • An enclosed desktop unit with Thunderbolt 3 bus connectivity (790414-01)

Q: What software is the USRP B310 compatible with?

A: The USRP B310 comes with UHD driver support, like all NI/Ettus USRPs. The UHD driver is compatible with C, C++, Python, and GNU Radio, with additional support for LabVIEW.

Q: What applications is the USRP B310 used for?

A: The USRP B310 could be used for applications like RF research and spectrum sensing.

Q: How does the USRP B310 compare to the USRP B200, B210, and B206mini?

A: The USRP B310 offers more bandwidth (100 MHz) and wider frequency coverage (up to 7.2 GHz) than the USRPs B200/B210/B206mini, which top out at 6 GHz and 56 MHz of bandwidth.

Q: Where can I get the NI Ettus USRP B310?

A: The USRP B310 is available through Cyth Systems, a National Instruments technical distributor and system integratorhttps://www.cyth.com/products/usrp-b310-790414-01
