PXI Module, Switch Matrix
Switch Matrix modules create flexible routing between multiple inputs and outputs, like an automated patch panel. They allow many combinations of connections without moving cables.
Important specs include matrix size (rows by columns), wiring configuration (1-, 2-, or 4-wire), and voltage/current handling. Larger matrices support more complex routing options.
In PXI, switch matrices simplify automated test by letting one set of instruments connect to many devices. They're ideal for functional test systems that need to measure many signals in sequence.
