The NI 68VHDCI-DB9M Serial cable supports RS485 (197546-01) serial protocol to connect and control GPIB devices, LCD/keypad displays, touchscreens, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), bar code scanners, and external I/O from a PXI or CompactRIO system. When using a serial cable with a CompactRIO or PXI module, you can select a standard DB-9 connector or the right-angle connector to save space with your system design.
