Cyth Develops BioWash Medical Instrument Sterilizer
At NIWeek2011 Cyth revealed a prototype of a Sterilization
Device that was designed for a customer. The product is initially designed
for sterilizing surgical instruments and dental
tools as an alternative to an autoclave.
Some of the details are still under development
and are private, but the general principle is
based on an existing portable dishwasher which
has been refactored as an attempt to service a
need in the medical, dental, and veterinary
markets.
Hi, my name is Candice Garcia, I'm the
Product Marketing Engineer for Cyth Systems,
which is a member of the NI Alliance Partner
Network. Today I'm going to be showing you the
BioWash demo, which is a medical instrument
sterilizer and uses NI sbRIO and Circaflex. The
medical device sterilizer is really useful for
the biomedical industry and this was built and
programmed in 6 days. You can adjust the rinse
cycle, the type of material that is being
washed, the heat, and you can also add UV
exposure, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, and OPA. I
am going to press start and it will start
filling up with water and you can see on the
user interface the status of the wash cycle. The
door will pop open automatically once it's done.
